Mookaite is a stone that rules the Root, Sacral AND Solar Plexus Chakras--helping to guide us out of our "heads" and back towards our clearest inner knowing in the most deeply rooted way. This is a stone that helps us make decisions more quickly based on our intuition and "gut" feelings.  



Mookaite has a dynamic mineral make-up that lovingly nudges us to take life steps in tune with our sense of WORTH, rather than our sense of FEAR. We like to call it "Mookaite Mama" because it carries within itself a very motherly and instinctual wisdom. And it feels like Mother Earth herself with her terra cotta coloring; as if she built herself straight out of the mud. Which she actually kind of did!

Mookaite Jasper is found only in the Kennedy Ranges of Western Australia near Mooka Creek, hence the name Mookaite. The Aboriginal term “Mooka” means “running waters” and refers to the numerous springs that feed into this exact region. Mookaite has been used for healing (and as a tool to decrease the physical signs of aging) by the aboriginals of Australia for hundreds of years. It was formed as the skeletal remains of radiolaria, microscopic protozoa with a hard silica shell, were deposited over millennia as sediment in sea beds. The coloring of the stone mirrors the "clay" from which it is formed. 

As I'm sure we all know, when we perform the actual act of making a decision, it can lead us to actual ACTION. These actions we take gear us towards building the life we desire. Mookaite, in so many ways, represents the beauty and magic that occurs when those actions feel aligned with the part of us that is activated in the center of our souls. Listening to our intuition, while simultaneously owning our physicality, can be a powerful combination. Mookaite is a beautiful and tangible reminder of this.
