Matrix Opal: Eye and Blue Moissainite

Sale price Price $450.00 Regular price

Mexican matrix opal, often called Cantera Opal, is one of the most magical-looking opals because the opal remains naturally embedded within its host rock rather than being completely separated from it.

Cantera Opal forms when silica-rich water fills cavities and fractures within volcanic rocks, especially rhyolite.

Over time, opal develops within the stone itself, creating flashes and rivers of color surrounded by warm earth-toned matrix.

The word cantera means "quarry" in Spanish and refers to the volcanic host rock in which the opal forms.

This one is a galactic eye with blue and pink tones made on a string of light blue Moissanite- lab grown diamonds with star specs woven inside the stones.
