Aquamarine takes its name from the Latin aqua marina: water of the sea.

Its crystalline blues have long connected it to oceans, sailors and safe passage across the waters.

 It is a stone associated with clarity, courage and truthful communication, like water washing away the noise until we can see what has been there all along.

There is something about looking into aquamarine that feels like looking through clear water toward the bottom of the sea.
