Afghanite: The Revelation that Comes with Sight

Afghanite comes from the same ancient mineral landscape as lapis lazuli and is associated with themes of revelation, inner sight, truth, transmission, sacred language and knowledge retrieved from deep places.

The blue itself naturally evokes sky, night, water, voice and the celestial realm. But Afghanite isn't a soft watery blue like aquamarine. Its saturated blue can feel almost electrically charged, like something suddenly becoming visible.

Just like one of our newest listed stones, Hauynite, under ultraviolet light, these blue stones fluoresce fiery orange, revealing an entirely different expression hidden within their crystalline structure.

Invisible wavelengths of light enter the stone and are returned to our eyes as visible color.
