Viriditas

Viriditas is a word used by the 12th-century mystic Hildegard of Bingen to describe the greening power of life: the vital force of the divine moving through plants, bodies, earth and spirit. It is the energy that makes a seed break open, a forest return after winter, and life continue reaching toward the light.

Emerald has long carried this same frequency of renewal. A stone of the heart, fertility, abundance and regeneration, its green reminds us that growth is not always something we have to force. Sometimes it is already moving through us.
