Embodied Magic
Back in 2022, Mia and I flew out to Topanga, CA. where I had lived for about a year in a fairy cottage to photograph and video our friend Ali in the labyrinth at the top of the mountain for our website. I asked Ali, an astrologer and quantum healer, how to get a Virgo rising (like myself) to chill calm chill her swerving self-sabatoging mind.
She said "for Virgo energies the medicine often rests in how you start the day. Make a ritual even out of the way in which you drink a full glass of water. And actually drink the entire glass."
The Virgo New Moon on August 23rd carries a potent threshold energy.
A seed breaking through the soil in its pure unfiltered essence.
Virgo is the archetype of the Priestess, the Healer, the Artisan, and the modes in which we mold the clay of the day-to-day.
This New Moon is an open invitation to recall your capability to treat and adorn the body as the altar it is.
Not out of perfectionism, but out of reverence.
Even in the way in which you drink your tall glass of full water.
It has always been an innate part of my morning curriculum to pick the items of clothing and jewelry I will wear for the day with major intention, sometimes to the point of obsession.
In the past, my clothing choreography and jewel adornment was always connected to how things made me look and feel, but I do not recall that I had always viewed the items I was placing on myself as truly pulsing and Alive.
I do now.
Talismans hold the vibration we wish to call in and has been a ritual practice of adornment across cultures and centuries. When approached with intention, dressing is more than decoration, it becomes prayer, presence and an opening of the vessel. A true talisman is alive, as is water, and it gets louder each time you wear it. The pieces we choose to put on our body alters become a huge thread of our stories, our rhythms, our lineage.
NOTE: As I finished this sentence a rainbow maker and the glass that held it fell off the window in the crystal room and made the loudest noise that reverberated throughout the house. Which is pretty funny :)
This New Moon happens at the genesis point of 0 degrees- inviting us to go backwards in order to move forwards. To remember what was and re-define what we want our daily moments and routines to energetically feel like in our bodies now.
This is a moon to re-enchant the ordinary.

Blue Sky Water Stones
The small irregular, organic forms of raw natural turquoise on my neck above are rare little beings that echo Virgoan discernment and authenticity -reminding us healing is not about perfection, but wholeness.
I was called to share some of these wise teal temples on instagram stories recently during a new thing I am up to as a way to start the day with crystal meditations and listening--I call it "Morning Magic." which just means that lately, many mornings I feel called to share pieces not yet online but that call out to be shared via morning light as part of my own ritual and grounding.
Many of these ancient teal stone ladies have found their homes already, but a few are still listed online.
Each holds the shape of the divine feminine - streams, rivers, currents of flow- while honoring the expansive blue sea we call sky. Intuiting which POUND piece you wear
