SOLARA: A Summer Solstice Collection 🐝

A Summer Solstice Collection in honor of the sol, the soil, the soul and the sacred honey-bee......

In Ancient Egyptian mythology, the bees were said to be born from the tears of Ra, the Sun God- sacred messengers bridging heaven and earth. Their humble flight carries the fate of flowers, fruit and food.

They dance in hexagons, tend to their matriarch, and live in service of something larger than themselves.

The
SOLARA Collection honors that rhythm and was inspired by these fantastical creatures floating on wind and wing, carrying honeyed light and communal care wherever they go.

Yesterday, despite feeling rushed to get this collection online, I decided to take a pause and join a Qoya circle led by my dear Rochelle to offer gratitude and prayers through flowers and leaves to the earth, the sun, the ancestors....
The only prerequisite during this rich ritual offering is that your prayers and gratitudes and questions are spoken from the truth that is alive in your heart.

I picked yarrow and little white flowers....maybe daisies?
I offered collected since times-past seashells and crystals and golden raisins.

I said thank you the the home of my grandparents where my mom now lives for offering us the land to weave magical talismans and adornments of resonance from our souls.

I said thank you for raising my mother and uncle in this space and passing it on in ways that opened a portal of creation for us to bring beauty into the world that has helped so many people spark their own connection to the symbols and stones that bring life to the way we move through the world.

I then asked for clarity on some of the confusing aspects of my own life and precision on how to dance with and be most of service through the density of pain that is so large and in charge on the collective stage.

I asked my grandfather in particular for guidance....for a signal just to reassure myself that these connections I feel are really here.

Not even an hour later my sister and I went to grab some food at the sweet spot Box Hill Grocer down the road and after we had checked out and were literally getting ready to leave, a bag of chocolate candies caught Mia's eye and she asked me if we should get them.
I said yes without even looking.
When I read the label I saw:
 "BIJOUX--Honeycomb Sponge Toffee."
The packaging had a CRYSTAL on it, which doesn't reallllly make sense for chocolates but also it totally does.

Bijoux (plural, masculine noun in French)
– Small, delicate, or decorative pieces of jewelry
– Can also refer to anything precious, finely made, or treasured — not just literal jewelry, but sometimes even used metaphorically

  • A small, exquisite trinket

  • A jewel-like object

  • Or even a small, charming home or space (e.g., “a bijou apartment”)

The best part (other than the fact it is HONEYcomb! covered in chocolate, which I do not recall having ever ingested before-highly recommend) is that when we went over to mom's house and showed her the package of chocolates, she said-
"that was your grandpa's favorite candy in the world."

I can say with tenacious truth from the humming of my heart, these pieces carry hexagonal codes for the soul and are reminders that adornment is not just bedazzlement.
It is ritual.
It is donning the potency and potential of myth.
It is honoring the minerals that are alive in our bones carrying us into the hearth of the hive and guiding us back home.

Enjoy! Viva le sol, viva your soul, and all that is illuminated along the way.
