On January 24th, the night before the Planetary Parade, my sister Mia and I were in Big Sur celebrating her 40th birthday when we arose one early morning to make our way to the mineral-rich baths up on top of the cliff in the paradise-like landscape of Esalen.
I am a forgetful human...also a tad OCD and also anxious by nature, so I always need to return to a space at least 2-3 times to grab things I have forgotten or have future-projected I might need before I am actually prepared to embark into the world.
My sister waited patiently as per usual while I performed my routine. She was out front photographing the moon which had a swirl of rings around it as if she were imitating the Father planet Saturn.
When I finally got my shit together and came outside, I looked up at the sky she was capturing and saw a bubble. A literal green, pink, and blue bubble. It was moving.
I said "what is that??"
She said, "it's the Moon!"
I said, "NO. What isTHAT!!!!!!!!!"-pointing at the ethereal glowing globe of cosmic intelligence right near the moon.
We watched it morph into the shape of a heart before it danced its way into a handful of otherout-of-this-world light-beings.
The entire story of what unfolded and what we came to understand later is long, and I am allowing it to take shape more fully for my first Substack. But for now it felt a little important to share a bit of the story because when we saw the LITERAL HEART forming inside the bubble that was moving in the sky, I had a calming, penetratingly and all consuming feeling of the planet's heart-beat sweeping pulsing through the entirety of me, and she said: "this is what it is all for. this is what it's all about."
It's not a spoiler alert because I believe that we have all had this realization, reminder or message come to us somehow someway at least once in our live: It's all for love.
This is the first year since the inception ofPOUNDover 12 years ago that we did not advertise or pull together some variation of a Love Collectionfor Valentine's Day.
